Has Anyone Any Tips Or Ideas About Building A Wooden House In Ireland?

My fiancee and I are thinking of building a wooden house instead of a normal brick house, as it will work out cheaper in the long run. Does anyone have any views or tips about wooden houses? any ideas would be appreciated.

  1. I’m interested in this too. I found this firm

    Good Luck

  2. General construction as normal. You don’t need to do anything special. Just remember to use the best insulation available. In addition, wood will deteriorate a bit faster in Ireland than the states due to water, snow and humidity but, not to worry; it will last your lifetime and then some.

  3. Seek the advice of a company that specialises in importing Scandanavian style log cabins, they last for years. You can pick them up for around £20,000 – £40,000.
I’m looking into building one of these here in England in the next couple of yearshttp://www.slcd.co.uk/pages-productinfo/…
