My Boyfriend And I Just Found Out We Are Expecting Our First Child.?

We can’t decide on what to name the baby. I have always liked the name Teresa for a girl pronounced te-ray-sa. But have no idea what middle name would go with it.
I also like the name James for a boy, but my sister used it as her son’s middle name. Could I still use it as a first name and what middle name would go with it. My boyfriend’s name is Allan.

  1. I like the names you have chosen. I would spell the girls name Teraysa though. You could pair it with several different middle names.
    1. Teraysa Nicole
    2. Teraysa Leighanne
    3. Teraysa Renee
    4. Teraysa Jane
    5. Teraysa Marie
    6. Teraysa Jo-Lynn
And as for the boys name there is no rule that says only one person in a family can use a certain name. It would be different if your sister had used it as a first name than it would be totally off-limits but since she used it as a middle name. You can use it as a first name. I like it paired with the following choices.
    1. James Bradley
    2. James Allan
    3. James Dougal (J.D.)
    4. James Nathaniel
    5. James Elliott
    6. James Nicholas
Congrats and good luck on finding just the right name.

  2. Have you considered the names Teraysa Gabrielle and James Jonathan for a boy?

  3. James Allan
    Teresa Ruby

  4. you could name the boy James Allan
and for the girl Teresa Jean,
    Teresa Ann,
    Teresa Lyann
and yes you could use James as your sons first name even if you sister did for her little boys middle name my Sister did
    ash

  5. Andrew James
    Allan James
    James Christopher
    Steven Alexander
    Michael Nethan
    Johnathan Karl
    Marcelo Pinheiro
    Daniel David
    Anthony James
    Ariel Ronaldo
    Edgar Stephan

  6. I would pair Teresa with a name like Rebecca and James Allan sounds all right to me. Yes you can still use James as a first name eventhough your sister used it as a middle name. There is nothing wrong with that.

  7. if your going to name her teresa but have it pronounced like that then maybe you should change the spelling cause everyones gonna say it wrong. maybe do it like.. teraysa. idk,

  8. first of all sweetie……congrats!!!!!! Second of all go to http://www.babynames.com it is a fantastic website and it helps you along with your pregnancy! i would not know personally but i have been on it several times!!! best of luck!!!!!! ~Gladys~

    Congrats to you!
Lots and Lots of books out there, as I’m sure you know! It’s overwhelming at times! I personally would suggest this site, and easily enough you can find lots of cool sites with “different” names. I’m sure they may even have some out there that would help you pick that middle name. Good luck in both your pregnancy and name choice!

  10. go to http://www.yourchildrennaturally.com
look at “summer’s favorite names” blog

  11. Yes you can use the name James as a first name even if your sister has used it as a middle name. There is nothing that says she owns that name. I like the sound of James Allan. As for the girl’s name how about Teraysa Judith.

If you want to, you could use your first or middle name or the first or middle name of your mom, mother-in law, grandma, sister, someone in your boyfriend’s family, close friend, etc.
    Other suggestions are :
    Teresa Amber
    Teresa Anne
    Teresa Beth
    Teresa Christine
    Teresa Danielle
    Teresa Dawn
    Teresa Grace
    Teresa Jane / Jayne
    Teresa Jean
    Teresa Jo
    Teresa Marie
    Teresa Michelle
    Teresa Nicole
    Teresa Renee
I have to agree with some others, though, people will pronounce it Te – ree – sa. Maybe you could consider Tereysa. Tereysa Jayne would be cute.
As for a boy, sure you could still name him James, but you could spell it Jaymes if you want it to be a little different. Or if you want something similar, you could consider Jamie, Jaime, Jim, Jimmy/Jimi, Jay/Jai or Jaden/Jayden. But i think James or Jaymes Allen would be fine.

Amie and I suggest naming the child Teraysa Ryleigh if it is a girl. and for a boy James Allan.

You might want to consider the spelling of Teresa, because it is going to be pronounced Ter-ee-suh.
    Terrasa Magdalen
    Tereysa Elizabeth
    Teraysa Primrose
    Taraysa Saige
If your sister had used James as a first name, it would be off-limits, but I think it is still fair game.
    James Allan
    James Ryder
    James Sebastian
    James Mason
    James Sawyer
Congratulations, good luck, and I hope this helps! :)

  15. I don’t have any names for you. I like Teresa and James. As far as using James, I think it’s fine, but you really should see what your sister thinks about it. I wouldn’t be upset if one of my sisters used one of my children’s middle names as a first name, but some people might. It probably wouldn’t be worth starting a family feud. Good luck with the baby.

  16. Congrats! I love the name Teresa. I love James, too! I think it would be fine to use that name. Just be careful, Teresa is most commonly pronounced Ter-ee-sa so people reading her name will read it that way unless you correct them. Good luck with the new baby!

The only issue with being particular on pronunciation is that teachers will always mispronounce it, and she won’t be able to correct them.
I like Teresa Leigh, Teresa Lynn, Teresa Claire, Teresa Beth, and Teresa Brooke.
Also in that style, I like Serena Belle, Serena Claire, Serena Michelle, and Serena Belle.
As for James, James Allan and Allan James are very nice. I think that it’s no big deal that it’s your sister’s son’s middle name. Now if it was his first name, that would be different. But whatever.
Good luck! Let me know what you go with!

  18. First of all, a million trillion congratulations to you! You guys are in for such a ride! Enjoy it!
Second of all, I can’t say that I am fond of Teresa. This is from a personal asscioation, though, so you don’t have to take my opinion seriously. If you guys are dead-set on this name, consider a different spelling. People will have trouble pronouncing it.
You should be fine using James as a first name. After all, your sister does not own the name! If you think it might offend her, just ask. If she says it does, perhaps you could consider Jacob, Jonathan, or Jack, as those are similar names.
Good luck! In the end, a name WILL come to you. I know it seems impossible, but it will.

  19. Congrats on your pregnancy! You’ve got a long time to pick out this childs name so don’t get to worried too soon.
Yes, you can call him James even if your nephew has it as a middle name.
I like Te-ray-sa alot, but you might want to try different spelling because I read it as Ter E ssa. It would just save her from alot of confussion.

  20. Even though your sister gave her son the middle name of James, it is ok for you to use it as a first name. You could always use your middle name as a middle name for a girl or even a female family member’s name that may have passed on or that you are very close to. For a boy you could go with James Allan after your boyfriend or in the same situation use a family member’s name that has passed on or you are close with. Some good names together are:
    Teresa Anne
    Teresa Marie
    Teresa Elizabeth
    Teresa Christine
    James Michael
    James Timothy
    James Aaron
    James Elliott
    Good luck and Congratulations.

  21. Hi There, congratulations to you! Having a baby is going to blow your mind. The love that comes out of everyone concerned will change you forever.
Regards your question. I have a site that allows you to determine the real meaning of any name combination you can think of. Names, or sounds (like thoughts) vibrate to an octave of the cosmic ray (just like radio waves), and each of these octaves denotes a quality. You can work out if any name will bring success or failure to the wearer. Because many people will think the childs name in their life, its important. A good deal of energy comes your way through a name.
Anyway, its free to take a look at the table of correspondences and work out what a name means. There is lots of other good stuff for parents also.
My site is http://www.astrotimes.net.au check out the “Meaning_of_Names” page.
    And good luck to you

  22. For starters, congrats on your first baby, i think the name Teresa is a beautiful name, there are loads of names to use for a middle name for that. Heres some examples
    Teresa Marie
    Teresa Anne
    Teresa Antoinette
    Teresa Leigh
    Teresa Elaine
For a lil boy there are good names for that to
    Stephen
    Jacob
    Thomas
    Allan
    Antonio
    Anthony
    Ryan
    Matthew
Good luck, i hope i helped.

  23. For a girl Teraysa Abigail and for a boy James Allan.

  24. Teraysa Sunshine
    James Dandy

  25. If you like Teresa but pronounced te-ray-sa you might want to consider changing the spelling. Maybe Terasa or Teraysa. People are going to always say Teresa Te-ree-sa. I would choose a different name other than James since your sister already used it.

  26. James Allen sounds good to me!
and why not try Tresa Nikole (pronounced tres-a)

  27. I kind of like the sound of Teresa Alanna or something like that. As far as James, I think you can still use it as a first name. Or if you wanted to use it as a middle name to, you could do Allan James, and call him Allan or James or AJ.

  28. do James Allen then it sound good together

  29. I like teresa nicole or teresa marie.
    James michael
    James matthew
    James Allan
and yes you could still use it.

  30. Yes you can use James
My daughter is Hayley Elizabeth, and my brother is Laurel Elizabeth, I had no problem. My brother did not ask, but if you think your sister may have a problem, just ask her.
James Allan is a great name
Teresa Rayleigh is a pretty name
    Congratulations

  31. Teresa Dawn ( you can call her Teri for short if you like)
    Why not Allan James???(AJ)
