I’ve been reading into the vile practice of a new financial ‘product’ called death bonds.
For those who don’t know basically cash strapped pensioners sell their life insurance to firms at a higher rate than the normal surrender cost. Then the firm takes over the premiums in the hope that the person dies before the policy would have matured. Lovely eh? How do these people sleep at night?
It transpires that two Lib Dems are associated in some convoluted way via feeder companies. Vince Cable being one. I’m pretty sure it will be across the board though…they just happen to be the ones mentioned in the article I read. Aside from the ethics it has the same capacity of going belly up as the sub prime speculation and we know all know the repercussions to that particular beano..
Just how bloody rotten and unethical does financial practice and UK politics have to become before something is made illegal? WTF do the F.S.A and standards committee actually do apart fro say ‘ ooh that’s not nice’?

Ok so I’m getting married in May (fast approaching & nerves beginning to get to me) and while talking to the photographers last the discussion of whether or not we should do some pictures before the ceremony came up. Before this I had the complete intention of waiting until the ceremony for my fiance to see me due to tradition and “bad luck”. No big deal right? Well my venue has no place to take really nice pictures (we chose it because of price, not on pictures) and I really do want some pictures that are nice and don’t have the fire extinguisher in the background. So I want to get some opinions from others; do you think I should go ahead and wait for my fiance to see me at the ceremony. This means that all pictures must be taken in the lobby, by the pool or in the nice places of the parking lot but I keep with the tradition OR do we and the wedding party go to a great place that I found with fountains, etc. off the venue site and do the pictures before the ceremony but this means that I break the tradition. Now I know I can do the first look pictures before the ceremony but I am really torn on whether or not I should break the tradition, please help!
Second question..Should I pay for alcohol at my wedding?
Our friends and family are heavy drinkers to clinical alcholics and the words “free beer” is something that could cost us a couple grand should we allow them to do this. We are on a tight budget especially since we just bought a house but I keep hearing people both wedding hosts and guests say that it is rude or tacky not to give free alchohol but in my case is it? We are paying for their meals and only a small number of people were invited who are from out of town so its not like everybody spent a lot of money to get here and we are just on a budget that I know will be destroyed should we have an open bar and not a cash one. I need other people’s opinion on this as well. I know I can do the one drink chip or a signature drink but that’s going to cost a couple hundred dollars as well so would that suffice or am I okay to say thanks for coming but your buying your own booze (more diplomatically of course).

I have been with a man for four months. I thought things were perfect with us for three months, but lately a few things have happened to make me doubt whether his declatarions of love for me are sincere?
He had an ex who he broke up with the day before he met me. She is thirteen years older than me (42) and practically flat chested…. i am totally different looking to her with big boobs – this makes me insecure cos i worry i am not his type!
but anyway when he lent me his phone the other day i found some texts on his phone saying he missed her (though nothing sugggestive) though he has not mentioned being in contact with her..
he also admitted to me that a month ago he gave her $900 as she saaid she was in financial trouble, though he claims not to be able to afford an engagement ring for me (we are engaged)
worst of all, he accidentally left his camera at mine the other daya s he was using it to take some pics of us, and i was flicking through the pics when he had gone, and found twns upon tens of pics of her… some with bra on, some doing really unmentionable things, some naked, and i cannot describe how much this upsets me, especially as he assured me he had absolutely no pics of any of his exes at all (i was a bit insecure about this)
i have not confronted him about this. i feel so sick i actually am tempted to break up with him because he has lied to me, and clearly still has fantasies about his ex who is completely different from me/…. it would not have been hard for him to delete those pics.
by the way he rushed in about an hour after he had left just to get back the camera when he realised he had left it, so he clearly did not forget those pics were on there.
am really gutted.
would you stay with a man like this? he says he is over his last relationship. and he can’t have liked her that much cos he cheated on her the whole way through the relationship.

My husband an I have been thinking about becoming foster parents but we don’t know what to expect. We have one of our own already but we have room for a couple more and we are really interested in helping young kids. Can anyone share their experiences and how the process works? Also, are foster parents provided with any financial help for food, clothing, doctors visits, etc…. and do you enroll them in school in your zone or do they stay in their previous school Zone?
