One of the primary causes of California’s financial woes is the existence of state-workers’ unions. (I’m not totally against unions; but they can run amok!) I’m wondering if one of the reasons Texas is in better shape is that they either DON’T have such unions, or are their unions just not out of control.
Does Texas have any?

You can give it a’ shot at either ebay (auction or “By Now” options) and or craigslist. Have used the latter (craigslist) before and have sold everything that I’ve posted. Just register/create an account and go through their procedures ie., your area (state and the town nearest you), what department to post and finally what ya’ got, by the way it’s a’ freebee;)… <

I have just successfully overclocked my Intel Core 2 Quad q9550 last night @ 4.0Ghz and I feel proud of myself. Well a few weeks ago at work a customer was telling me my CPU was crap and that he’s never saw one under 4.0Ghz. So right away i knew this guy was full of it, though today a tech friend said he knows a guy that has a AMD CPU stock @ 4.2Ghz.Was he mistaken or do they actually exist @ STOCK clocks? The highest Quad AMD CPU I could find was 3.4Ghz on Newwegg.

Does it mean that a person has no life?
>> Goes on facebook EVERYDAY and stays on for a many hours
>> Their wall is rarely filled with notes from friends, but filled with other things (like flair, videos, fans pages, groups they joined, etc)
>> They dont really have pictures of themselves at certain events like parties, fundraisers, birthdays, weddings, from shopping, camp, etc.
>> All they have is 4 or 5 pics of themselves
>> They dont expect a message from their friends usually. Expect from random Instant messaging.
Is this a sign that their life is boring?
Bonus: Do you have a twitter? Do you tweet your real life friends on there?

I got a letter back from the college that I’m going to about financial aid and I’m not sure how to figure it out.
It says
Cost Of Attendance: $18,586
Minus Your EFC: -$0
Minus your Outside Resources: -
Equals your need: $18,586
Award Description
Federal Pell Grant: 2,775 (per semester)
Federal Sub Staffor Loan: 1,750(per semester)
Federal Unsub Stafford Loan: 1,000(per semester)
Federal Parent Loan 3,768 (per semester)
Semester Total: $9,293
Grand Total: $18,586
So does this mean that I have to pay ALL of it and the school didn’t help me at all?

Hey everyone, I found out this past Friday that I’m 6 weeks pregnant. I filed my fafsa last month (as a dependent) even though I pay for all my college expenses without the help of my parents. I will still be paying for college on my own after I give birth, and I will really need the financial aid since I have decided to keep my baby. Is it too late to make changes to the fafsa? And if its not, how do I go about making the changes? Any advice is appreciated

Look. Denver wants a Q.B. with a strong enough arm to win Playoff games. They know that when Kyle Orton is up against equal or better talent he can’t do that. To keep Kyle Orton they have no choice but to give him a fairly big contract. Quinn is good for the next 3 years at a minimum salary. So they bring in Brady Quinn and they let him ride the bench for a season, that is enough time to let him get used to a new system and get his confidence back. After Kyle Orton completes his 1 year tender they can let him hit the open market and Brady can be given the keys to car. I think it is a great long term plan that takes into a account practical and financial issues. Do you think it is a plan of good foresight or a bad idea?
