so i get a phone call today and its some telemarketer, it was such an ambiguous call that my initial curiosity got the better of me. i half made the assumption it was something with student financial aide or something. anyway, the women on the other end starts goin on and on about magazines and **** and i then make the stupid half assumption my parents got me some subscription or something, shes talking numbers blah blah blah. before i know it, i realize i just agreed to a verbal contract for this subscription bullshit that adds up to like $240 per year, but when it gets time to my credit card, i purposely give them the wrong number so of course it wont run. did i say i am an idiot for not seeing the scam? i could make excuses, but either way i was wondering peoples opinion on this, since they cant bill me, do you think the scam will still get me? words from personal experience would be most helpful here, do they give up and move on?

In September 2008, R decided to try his luck in the stock market. Using a recent inheritance and borrowing funds on margin, he started investing. On a tip, one of his purchases was 10,000 shares of Overpriced Corp. He paid $ 70 per share at a total cost of $ 700,000. By December, 2008 the stock price had slipped to $ 30 per share. The prices of his other investments were also falling. All of this was happening and he was paying interest on his margin account as well. Would R be considered a dealer? Why or why not? If R is a dealer, how could R guaranteed that a particular investment will not be subject to capital gain or loss treatment?

I am putting 50% of my savings in a general savings with a low interest rate but I know it will be there when I need it in about 14 months. The other 50% is going in through my companies stock purchase plan which gives me a 15% discount on my company stock. I have a decent amount in there now and my company stock in at a 52 week high.
I am exploring the possibility of selling that stock and buying something else like a BRK/B or something. Any suggestions or should I just ride it out with my company stock? Obviously the goal here is to maximize gain with minimizing risk. Afterall, this money will be taken out in 14 months to buy a house.
Please no posts about the tax credit yadda yadda yadda. I have to wait until July of 2011 to purchase a home due to a medical bankruptcy. thanks in advance!

I adopted a 1yr old beagle, who was house trained. She spent only 1 month in a shelter. When I brought her home, she had a couple accidents which i expected. I have had many other dogs in my life, all of which I trained to let me know when they needed out, as in barking, whining or scratching at the door.
So far this dog is a very happy, excited dog. At first I expected her to be annoying about it, since she’s a beagle, she has that unique bark. Unfortunately the only time she barks is at the neighbor dogs. I know that she was house broken because before I talk in a low voice with “bad” she tucks her tail and hides. She knows humans don’t like it in the house. Also when we are on walks, or I make her go out, I will reward her with lots of praise and even a milk bone as of late.
Even with the extra encouragement, she is still not letting us know. I’m starting to think that her previous owners either had a doggy door, or didn’t like the dogs barking, whining, or scratching to go outside.
Any advice??
Example: I let her out as soon as I woke up today. She urinated and then began listening and barking at other dogs in my area. For 10mins this went on, until I ran out of time and needed to start getting ready for work. Before I got into the shower, she had soiled the living room. No more than 2mins after letting her in.

Ok so typical story.. I was having sex with my girlfriend, the condom broke, and she gets pregnant.. She TELLS me she’s going to have an abortion. She never once got my input on it or asked me what I thought..
Do men not have any rights anymore? I told her that if she’s not ready to be a mother than I would take the baby and she could go on.. She said no she didn’t want to give birth.. Why is it that if a woman decides to have a baby, and the man isn’t ready he is FORCED into financial obligation? It was the woman’s decision to have it.. However we have no say in whether our own children can be born or not.

I removed the wood stock from my AK 47 and replaced it with a Command Arms Composite/aluminum stock. The only problem is, there is a gap about 3/16″ around the stock. This was there when the wood stock was on as well. I want to fill this gap. How can I or what should I use? Plaese help.
PS – Please dont tell me to gunsmith as I will not go that route. Thanks

My ex and I bought a house in 2006. When we broke up a couple of years ago, he kept living there and is paying the payment and paying it on time. I have good credit. I am currently living in an apartment due to having a mortgage already. He said that he can’t refiance it due to the market because we bought it when the market was high. Is it possible to get another mortgage for less the one I already have??
