Social Networking?! Addicting? No Way! Survey! <—?
Okay so, in my english class, we have to create our own poll/survey on social networking.
So could you answer these few questions? (:
1. How many hours do you spend texting, on the internet, and/or watching tv? All together.
2. Do you think Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, or any other internet site that allows you to speak with other people is addicting, and does it effect your grades?
3. Would you rather talk to someone in person or text/IM them? Don’t say ‘depends the the person.’ Just answer the best you can!
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH.
Could you always put your age! That’d help (:
I probably spend 8 or so hours a day between texting, TV and Facebook
I AM a addicted to Facebook and I think that little by little it is affecting my study time
Id rather text/IM, it seems a little less awkward
I am the grand ripe old age of 13
ps your pic is really prettyful
1. How many hours do you spend texting, on the internet, and/or watching tv? All together.
Around 5 hours a day, to be honest. I have no life.
2. Do you think Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, or any other internet site that allows you to speak with other people is addicting, and does it effect your grades?
It is addicting but I maintain a straight A+ average with my addiction to facebook
3. Would you rather talk to someone in person or text/IM them? Don’t say ‘depends the the person.’ Just answer the best you can!
On IM, you are less nervous, but nothing beats actually talking to someone in real life.
1. How many hours do you spend texting, on the internet, and/or watching tv? All together.
Around 3 hrs a day (:
2. Do you think Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, or any other internet site that allows you to speak with other people is addicting, and does it effect your grades?
It is addicting, and yep my grades have been affected DD:
3. Would you rather talk to someone in person or text/IM them? Don’t say ‘depends the the person.’ Just answer the best you can!
Talk to someone in person (:
1. How many hours do you spend texting, on the internet, and/or watching tv? All together. Meh it depends when i’m not coaching
2. Do you think Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, or any other internet site that allows you to speak with other people is addicting, and does it effect your grades? No, and no
3. Would you rather talk to someone in person or text/IM them? Don’t say ‘depends the the person.’ Just answer the best you can! No, i love being with my friends!
1. How many hours do you spend texting, on the internet, and/or watching tv? All together.
WAY too many. Probably 9 hrs a day.
2. Do you think Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, or any other internet site that allows you to speak with other people is addicting, and does it effect your grades? Yes its addicting, but no it doesn’t affect my grades
3. Would you rather talk to someone in person or text/IM them? Don’t say ‘depends the the person.’ Just answer the best you can! Sorry but it does depend on the person… BUT in person is deff. more fun and you can’t detect jokes/scarcasm online/in text.
I’m 17.
1. Probably like 6 hours
2. I don’t think it affects my grades, I’m still an A student
3. I like to talk to people in real life to see their genuine reactions, not like them thinking for like 5 minutes then putting what they think would be appropriate to say. Texting/IM, if someone is angry they can easily put LOL and you’d think there was nothing wrong, but you can’t do that in real life
14
i go on the internet everyday about 2 hours .. but don’t watch movies or tv on it
hope this helps you
im on facebook i find it addictive it would affect your grades if you are ment to be doing your course work and going on social networking sites instead
i would rather talk to them in person but its cheaper to keep in contact with your friends using facebook because all my friends are on it and i find it easier to keep in contact with my old friends aswell
im 21 btw
1. Too many. xD
2. For other people yeah, but I never liked them. It seemed really silly.
3. It does depend on the person. Some of my friends i have better conversations with online than in person, and others I don’t. I also have terrible social skills and hate talking to people I don’t know, but the internet is wonderful cus I can’t actually see the person.
I’m 14.
Maybe about 2-3 everyday. All together.
It’s extremely addicting — and I think it might have effected some parts of my grades.
I would rather talk to them over the phone then IM/Text, but sorry, it does depend on the person.
1. Probably 5? Depends, if I have basketball, probably around 2 or 3, weekday, maybe 5, weekend, a lot, maybe 7?
2. YES : /
3. I like talking in peron better, but I love texting too, and sometimes IMing
Age: 17
1. Basically all day, minus sleeping and school. But I text at school too.
2. I think I’ve gotten dumber because I spend so much time online. Hasn’t really affected my grade but I am reluctant to do homework because I want to stay online.
3. In person. Online seems impersonal.
1. haha, WAY too much, seiously like I come home and I’m online..
2. Yes, its addiciting. And yes it has def affected my grades….and not in a good way
3. Talk to them in person, but my parents dont let me go out much, so I’m stuck just seeing them in school and texting them.
16
1. idk i watch a lot of tv for about 17 hours a week total
2. i dont have one
3. totally in person, i usually do hang out with people in person
im 14
1. No idea, depends what day and how much I have going on.
2. Definitely addicting. XD
3. In person.
I’m 14.
1. like, 8.
2. yeah. and cause it keeps you on there!!
3. IM. cos then i can think abuot what im gonna say.
1. I’d say maybe 2 or 3. I mean, my TV runs whenever I’m home, but typically only for background noise. I only really watch it when The Office or Family Guy is on haaha
2. I never really got into twitter or myspace, but I know facebook can be very addictive! Sometimes I can get on, check my messages and notifications, and be off in 5 minutes. But then there’s times I’ll waste and hour and not even notice it. I don’t think it affects my grades too much… maybe it takes away a little of my study time, and it definitely helps me with my procrastination… whoops.
3. Well, I would typically rather talk in person. Like face to face, not over the phone. I mean, then you can get a sense of emotion and it’s just easier to express feelings and pay attention. I know when I’m on the phone with someone, they can’t see my face and therefor probably don’t completely get what I’m saying. And I know listening over the phone to someone droning gets boring… but face to face it’s more interesting. Along with that, texting just doesn’t cut it either. I mean, I’m a highly sarcastic person, and sarcasm just doesn’t send well via text haaha.
Of course, there are those times where I just want to be in peace and quiet, and then I’ll just text or IM.
1. How many hours do you spend texting, on the internet, and/or watching tv? All together.
——Shiiiit, hate to admit it, but that’s practically my whole day apart from school and homework! Maybe four or five hours on a weekday, and God knows on a weekend,
2. Do you think Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, or any other internet site that allows you to speak with other people is addicting, and does it effect your grades?
——-I hate those sites. I don’t think they’re addicting at all, and they’re definitely not affecting my grades! I find it so awkward talking to someone on social networking sites, unless they’re my very best friend. Sites like Y!A and forums, speaking to people I don’t know in general discussion (like this), I find much more addicting.
3. Would you rather talk to someone in person or text/IM them? Don’t say ‘depends the the person.’ Just answer the best you can!
——100% talk in person. As I said, it’s so awkward for me to talk to someone online. I have no real friends who live TOO far away, so if I want to speak, I usually just give them a ring and meet up.
I’m 17.
